Alaska's Alyeska Resort Home to New Roundshot Livecam

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

At an elevation of 2,655 feet atop the ski patrol HQ at the summit of the Glacier Bowl Express, the new Roundshot Livecam at Alyeska Resort has spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Chugach Range mountain peaks, down to the town of Girdwood, the Seward highway and the scenic Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet.

The Turnagain Arm is distinguished with having the highest tides in the US and the second highest in the world, after the Bay of Fundy. Tides can vary some 40 feet, with an incoming bore tide wave of over 6 feet, attracting extreme surfers and kayakers.

With a base elevation of only 250' and surrounding peaks upwards of 5,000' in elevation, Alyeska's 2,500 vertical feet of lift-served skiing provides some of the most challenging terrain in the state of Alaska. Alyeska is a year-round gateway to the Alaskan wilderness, with extensive summer and winter activities supported by the gracious chateau-style Hotel Alyeska. Look for gorgeous sunsets over the Inlet, and possibly some unusual sky colors from the northern lights at this 60-degree north latitude location.

PanoAlpin expresses our sincere thanks to the team at Alyeska for making this challenging installation a reality.
